Who

Penny On is a social enterprise company and a charitable trust. We have one aim – to create local, national and global support for the vital work that the whole of the voluntary sector does.

Penny On is a way of fundraising and collecting your pennies, allowing everyone to effortlessly give. And in turn those pennies go to projects at home and abroad.

Everything we do is connected to the Millennium Development Goals – with the goal of ending poverty. At first we’ll focus on Goal 1 – sending your pennies to fund projects dedicated to wiping out extreme poverty and hunger – on your doorstep and abroad.

What

The big picture is this - nearly 16,000 thousand children die every day – because they can’t afford to eat or get the healthcare they need. And in your own neighbourhood there are people struggling to feed their families.

Our mission is to end this permanently, by using the pennies you give to fund self-sufficiency projects at home and abroad.

We know even when you want to give to charity it can be hard, because you need money too. So we’re making it really simple – you just give one penny every time you shop. So you can add your penny and start making a difference.

You’ll get a say in where the pennies go and we promise you that your money will be split fairly between projects at home and projects abroad.

Where

In the next few weeks you’ll see Penny On appearing in shops across the Northwest of England. We’ll listen to your feedback and improve as we take our first steps in your community.

You can start giving now online, and you’ll start to see us in shops from May 2009.
